The Galveston Island Market, sponsored by the Galveston Art League, offers a festive monthly outdoor event where local artisans, handcrafters, and small producers can showcase their creations for Galveston residents and visitors. Our vendors vary, but they include jewelry makers, artists, photographers, wood carvers, clothing designers, repurposing and recycling designers, personnel care producers, candle makers, cottage food bakers and canners, quilters and knitters, potters, and wreath makers.
The Island Market provides a relaxing setting for browsing and shopping for unique handcrafted items. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., vendors’ tents line the sidewalks along 22nd Street and Mechanic Street in the historic downtown Galveston (see map on location tab).
The Market operates March through June and September through December. It is usually held on the third Saturday of each month, but the exact date depends on other events scheduled downtown. In case of heavy rain or winds, the Market is canceled or delayed until the next day, same place and time. Cancellations and delays are announced on the Galveston Island Market Facebook page.
